Ghana’s Black Queens dominated their Pink Ladies Cup opener with a 4-0 win over Hong Kong. Goals from Princess Marfo, Doris Boaduwaa, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, and debutant Ajegipena Zakaria sealed the victory in the UAE.

The Ghana Black Queens have sent a thunderous message to the rest of the continent, opening their 2026 Pink Ladies Cup campaign with a clinical 4-0 demolition of Hong Kong on Saturday, February 28. Staged at the Al-Hamriya Sports Club Stadium in the United Arab Emirates, the match was a masterclass in attacking efficiency and tactical discipline, proving that Coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s side is in prime shape ahead of the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The breakthrough came in the 28th minute when FC Nordsjaelland forward Princess Marfo finished off a fluid team move to calm any opening-match nerves. Ghana’s dominance only intensified from there. In the 40th minute, Doris Boaduwaa—who had already provided the assist for the opener—turned scorer herself, pouncing on a defensive error to double the lead before the break. The Queens didn't let up after the interval; Nottingham Forest attacker Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah added a third just two minutes into the second half, effectively ending the contest as a spectacle.

The highlight of the evening for many fans was the late flourish from debutant Ajegipena Zakaria. The Ampem Darkoa Ladies standout, making her first senior international appearance, found the net in the 87th minute to complete the rout. While Boaduwaa missed a chance to add a fifth from the penalty spot earlier in the half, the overall performance was so dominant that Hong Kong was limited to zero clear-cut chances. With three points and a massive goal difference secured, the Black Queens now sit comfortably at the top of the table as they prepare for a much tougher test against Russia on Tuesday, March 3.
