Tottenham Hotspur have dismissed head coach Thomas Frank following a dismal Premier League run and defeat to Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the sacking of head coach Thomas Frank after a disappointing start to the 2025–26 Premier League season.

The club confirmed the decision on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, following a 2–1 home defeat against Newcastle United in their most recent league fixture. Spurs currently sit 16th in the table, just five points above the relegation zone, and have struggled for form in domestic competition.

Frank, 52, took over from Ange Postecoglou in June 2025 with hopes of continuing the club’s push for top-six finishes, but results on the pitch failed to meet expectations. During his tenure, Tottenham won only a small fraction of their league matches and endured a run of winless games in the Premier League, which ultimately sealed his fate.

In an official statement, the club thanked Frank for his commitment, but said that a change was necessary to improve results and protect Tottenham’s position in the league. The leadership team — including senior figures and directors — concluded that a fresh direction was needed as the club battles to avoid relegation.

Under Frank, Spurs did have some success in Europe, securing qualification to the Champions League knockout stages, but that achievement was overshadowed by poor league form and fan frustration.

The club is now expected to begin the search for Frank’s successor, with options including interim and permanent appointments as Tottenham look to steady their season and improve their Premier League standing.
