The Ghana Police Service has successfully neutralized a potential mass casualty event in the Bono Region following a high-stakes intelligence operation. In a press statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah of the Public Affairs Unit, the command confirmed the recovery of a significant cache of military-grade and locally manufactured weapons intended for a robbery operation.

Intelligence-Led Interception

The operation began on February 11, 2026, after police intelligence intercepted details of a planned attack targeting traders commuting along the Dormaa-Gonokrom highway. • Two (2) Baikal single-barrel guns

• One (1) Pump-action gun

• One (1) Beretta pistol loaded with three rounds of 9mm ammunition
