The drama surrounding the final funeral rites of the late highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, is reaching a boiling point. A faction of the family, led by a vocal figure named Mama China, recently issued a strict two-week ultimatum for the current family head to disclose the music legend's exact burial location and answer for his actions.
However, the family head, Abusuapanin Victor Kofi Owusu, is not backing down. In a fiery new interview on Ezra TV, he completely dismissed the rebellious family members, stating that under Ashanti custom, absolutely no one can strip him of his title except the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Abusuapanin further dragged his critics, claiming that Mama China and her associates do not even belong to the core Ekuona clan, making their demands invalid. The opposing side, however, argues that Owusu has damaged the singer's legacy by allegedly organizing the funeral without consulting Lumba's first wife or elder sister—who traditionally serve as kingmakers.
With the matter now reportedly heading before the Chiefs of Parkoso, all eyes are on the family to see how they will resolve this internal war and finally lay the Ghanaian music god to rest peacefully
