Ghana and Zambia have taken a historic step to strengthen bilateral relations by revitalising the Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC), creating a structured, results-driven framework to accelerate collaboration between the two nations.
Under this renewed partnership, 10 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) have been signed, covering key priority sectors such as trade and investment, energy, tourism, mining, agriculture, education, science and technology, youth development, and defence cooperation.
A major highlight of the agreement is the visa-free travel MOU, which allows all categories of passport holders from Ghana and Zambia to travel between both countries without visas. This landmark decision represents a bold and practical step toward free movement of people across the African continent, in line with Africa’s integration agenda.
The agreement signals a renewed commitment to Pan-African cooperation, economic growth, and people-to-people connectivity, setting the stage for deeper partnerships and shared prosperity between Ghana and Zambia.
