The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been thrown into mourning after the death of one of its students who reportedly fell from a private hostel located outside the university campus.
The deceased was a second-year student pursuing a degree in Agribusiness Management. The unfortunate incident occurred at Ayeduase, a suburb close to the university, where the student was residing.
According to information released by university authorities, the student fell from an upper floor of the hostel building in the early hours of the day. He was quickly rushed to the KNUST Hospital by colleagues and security personnel, but medical staff confirmed he was dead on arrival.

Management of the university has since notified the family of the deceased, while the body has been deposited at the hospital mortuary pending further procedures, including an autopsy.
University officials say the KNUST Police and relevant security agencies have commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the fall.
In a statement, the university expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to the bereaved family, while assuring students of its commitment to safety and welfare on and off campus.
