A heartwarming moment has emerged from Ghana’s law enforcement community after the Ghana Police Service returned a bag containing GH₵85,000 to its rightful owner. The cash was reportedly found along the Techiman–Kumasi highway during a routine police operation earlier this month.
According to police reports, officers on duty discovered the bag at a checkpoint and quickly secured it for investigation. After confirming the contents, they traced identifying details on the bag to contact the owner, who later came forward to claim the money.
The owner — identified as Stephen Ofori, a Kumasi resident — explained that the money had accidentally fallen from a moving vehicle while being transported. Following verification and standard checks, police officially handed over the full amount to him.
The incident has sparked praise online, with many calling it a reminder that integrity and professionalism still exist within the force. It also highlights the importance of proper documentation when transporting large sums of money.
