Kwame Nkrumah Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced the immediate suspension of all student social gatherings and programmes until further notice.
The decision follows a violent confrontation involving some groups of students, which reportedly occurred at about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, on the university’s campus.
University authorities say the suspension is a precautionary measure aimed at restoring calm, ensuring safety, and preventing further disturbances while investigations into the incident continue.
Students have been advised to comply fully with the directive, as management works with security agencies to assess the situation and take appropriate action.
KNUST has assured the university community that updates will be communicated through official channels as more information becomes available.
