The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Denis Aheto, has urged fresh students to embrace excellence, discipline, hard work, commitment, and sacrifice as guiding principles in their academic and personal lives.
Speaking at the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony, the Acting Vice-Chancellor advised the students to refrain from acts that could jeopardize their academic journey and the peace of the University community.

“Academic excellence in this university requires hard work, commitment, and sacrifice. As you enter this new phase of independence, remember that what you become will largely depend on the decisions you make,” Prof. Aheto added.
He emphasised that excellence should be their defining hallmark, pursued daily throughout their academic journey at the University.
“You have come to this institution to study and obtain a degree; it is, therefore, not our desire to send any of you home without achieving this dream. We, as an institution, are committed to helping you achieve your dream. Do your part by studying hard and adhering to the rules and regulations outlined in these books, as well as other rules existing in the University,” he said.
